SketchUp

SketchUp

SketchUp, was by far my favorite program of them all. To make this house, I used a combination of all the tools to make this house. Using a website to get the house model, I used realistic measurements and made this house. I definitely look forward to the next time I will used SketchUp.

First Web Project

Web Project

This is my first project using a new software, called dreamweaver. It was exciting and challenging to make my website. I also used links to link back and forth between pages. Using the code to post in pictures and text was easy. I learned a lot from this project, and about dreamweaver.

3-D Chairs and Table

I used the program called Google SketchUp to make this Kitchen/Dinner scenario. This scenario was based off of my own house. I used all the tools from my Dog House post as well and even more tools! I learned about the "follow me" tool and the "shadow" tool. these tools both give the image look much more realistic. To make the sphere that was used as the door handle, and the legs of the chairs and tables, was all from the "follow me" tool. Lastly, the "shadow" tool is self explanatory on where I used it.

10 Words to describe me

Describing:

These are the ten words that describe my personality. I made this in Photoshop and used the frame animation feature. Also, I organized the words and made a transaction to trigger the motion you see in the video. The ten words that I figured out to describe me were: Active, Helpful, Outgoing, Understanding, Thorough, Energetic, Organized, Sociable, Sympathetic, and Cooperative.

Dog House

SketchUp:

I used the SketchUp program in order to make this dog house. I used many tools to make this project such as the Shape Drawer, Push and Pull, Offset Tool, Move tool, and much more. All of these tools really helped me make this and it was a lot of fun. I added a dog, people, an island, a large lake, and the Golden Gate Bridge! The Paint Bucket tool really gave the portrait its design.

Name Animation

Tools used to make this:

This project was enjoyable and fun. The way I made this is by typing the whole name and erase it backwards, letter by letter. Then I created a frame by frame animation and reversed the frames to make it look like it is being written down.

Realistic Bouncing Ball Animation!

Arcs

I have made another bouncing ball animation. The difference in this one is: more detail and arcs! In Adobe photoshop I used the brand new technique of arcs! This techniques is very useful for making things look more realistic because everything in life moves in arcs. I will definitely use this more.

Daniel's Personality Type

Personality Type and Relations:

The highlighted text above is my personality meaning, (Personality Explanation Link), that explains what my personality means. I took a personality test of 64 questions, (Personality Test Link), that gave me the letters "ESFJ." Then as explained before I got the meaning of it using the explanation link. "ESFJ" means that I am caring and cooperative. I also try and create a peaceful environment with work well done. Lastly, I am always loyal and help with what I can to other people in their every-day lives. As you may probably guess, I am not the only person with this personality type, a famous person by the name of Vin Diesel shares this personality type with me.

How well this personality relates to me:

I'd say that this personality is very much like me, actually! The fact that I am energized by spending time with others just like me. The part where it says that I pay attention to facts and details, only applies some of the time. I don't always pay all my attention to facts and details.

Does this personality type help me understand myself a little more?:

Finding out that this is my personality, really does explain some of my actions. One action that this personality type explains is how I do not hold grudges and I forgive very quickly. It also explains how when I am alone I feel "lost" in a way. I need to be around people, and I always text and call my friends.

Golden Retriever:

I took a Lion, Otter, Golden Retriever, and Beaver test (Animal Personality Test Link). Each of these animals represent a different personality. I ended up getting the Golden Retriever, which goes hand-in-Hand with the "ESFJ" personality type. The Golden Retriever personality means good at making friends, loyal, caring, and is very calm.

Article Post

Article Summary:

A college in Maine, a high school senior posted badly about an informational meeting on social media. When that student later applied to a college of her choice, they rejected her not only for that post but for the bad ones in the past as well. The school isn't the only place that checks your social media, jobs also take a look at your social media. Good posts are also viewed by the schools. If they find a good and/or education post they may reward you.

What surprised me!

It surprised me to figure out how a simple bad post can be used against you, by not allowing people to enter the college they want.

Questions I have?

The question I had was if my school did this. Can the college that I want to attend to really reject my application as a result of bad posts?

What I learned:

I definitely learned that I have to be careful on what I post on social media. I also learned that schools and jobs can reject applications from negative social media history.

Photoshop Animation project one

Rubber Bouncing Ball Animation

This was a project using the squash and stretch technique to show the "rubber" and bounce effect on the ball as it hit the ground. I used the program called adobe illustrator which help me make a ball out of shapes to appeal 3-D, and after that I put the together the frames to form an animation of a bouncing ball. I learned and used a new tool in illustrator called a timeline, which allowed me to put together the frames to make the animation. Lastly, I learned how to used the gradient tool to give the effect of the shine of the ball and ground.

Don't forget to check out the video below!

Video where I learned the Squash and Stretch technique:

Photoshop

The ONW project was a lot of fun and the finished product looks great. I used transparency and mixed images together. ( More info on this project in a separate blog!)

This butterfly was made with photoshop. Photoshop is very different than Illustrator. I used symmetrical color design to get the same color on each side of the butterfly. I also used a tool to make the butterfly seem to be moving in mid air.

The third project with the name of our school was a challenging project, but the ending results was worth it. I love the colors on the background and how the school is in the letters.

The last project was very challenging. I got help from others in order to complete this project. I also assisted the others in need, of the knowledge that I knew. It took a while to get the routine of how to do things for that project, but when I got the hang of it, it was fairly easy to complete.

Daniel's ONW photoshop 1

To make this picture I had to get an ONW compass and a picture of the ONW school. I had to resize the compass. Then, I had to resize the ONW high school picture so that it would match the compass. I later made the compass transparent. Next, I made the ONW letters on the screen. I did the same with the letters as the compass, and also made the letters transparent. Save my work, and than enjoy my new photoshop project.

Daniel's Logo

This is my new and improved logo. Through a long process of trial and error, I finally managed to finish my logo in the style and way that I wanted. I used a sharp font to symbolize risk and excitement. I also used circles on the exterior to hold my logo together and make it look nice. I am very proud of my logo and was a lot of fun to think about and create using adobe illustrator. The circle shape that I used for my logo was because of it's popularity and how it brings the whole logo together for a nice finish. I used the color blue because it symbolize trust, honesty, and loyalty, and anyone who gets involved with my logo/company with benefit from those things.

Daniel's Pathfinder

This is the object I made using pathfinder. It is the Android Bot. I used pathfinder especially for the head. To make the had I made a full perfect circle and then made a square on the bottom half of it. Last, I used the pathfinder to subtract the square from the circle, therefore leaving a half circle. Through this process I learned how effective using pathfinder really is! I cant imagine myself not using pathfinder anymore.

Daniel's Dot Matrix Font

Emotional, understated, progressive, and relaxed where the categories that I was. I am emotional because I feel like something feels right and am certain about it. I am understated because I feel like the words are best told when it's directed to me and for my ears. I feel like I am progressive because I believe that new ideas and terms will eventually overtake some of the traditional ones. Last I am relaxed, because I will take what is available rather than to stay and be picky about it. For these reasons, Dot Matrix Font matches my personality the most.

Daniel's cool color wheel

This is my cool/geometric color wheel opposed to my original, typical color wheel. The triangle in the middle is broken up into three pieces. Those pieces in the triangle represent the three primary colors. The hexagon behind the triangle is also broken into three pieces. These three pieces represent the three secondary colors. Finally, the outer circle represents all of the colors of the color wheel, which includes- Primary colors, Secondary colors, and the remaining tertiary colors.

My color wheel that I have made here is my finished product of my goal which was to improve the basic color wheel to create something with more style and and appeal more than the first color wheel. In tis project I learned how to split a shape using lines and then how to color fill the new shape individually, ultimately to learn how to color the shapes I ask a fellow class mate to help me out. The next time I would do a color wheel I would add more design and uniquely change the appearance. I would keep the same, the way I colored it and the colors of the color wheel. I will draw creativity and color for my next project. Making this color wheel was a lot of fun and gave me a minor experience in the world of graphic design.

The World of Graphic Design

Graphic design is very unique and stylish to each person. Many people use the art of Graphic design to express themselves using words and images. The world is full of graphic design in every human aspect right now including posters, labels, etc... Some artists who use Graphic design say that "Even making the design, like on a box feels like interacting with the user." Graphic design doesn't always include pictures, it also includes letters, and vice versa. To me making a graphic design is meant to be fun and memorable.
